PANTHEON

“Pantheon” is an animated show, akin to “Black Mirror.” Developed for a more mature audience without the typical adult animated tropes, it brought a sophistication to animated sci-fi shows not seen before. It premiered in 2022, and I Directed on Season 1: episodes 1 and 5 and Season 2: episodes 1 and 5.

My main visual objective as a Director, was to capture a cinematic live-action feel to the storyboards. I incorporated strong depth-of-field, intriguing compositions, and live-action camera moves, to really push the storyboards.

PANTHEON - A FATHER’S SECRET

Caspian confronts his father about his connection to Logorhythms, but he gets more than he bargained for.

This sequence exemplifies the visual aesthetic I was trying to achieve with Pantheon; moody lighting, visually intriguing compositions, mixed with a strong emotional impact.

PANTHEON - CASPIAN FRUSTRATED

This is from the first episode of Season 2. Caspian now fully working with Logorhythms to fix the flaw, realizes he’s the smartest person in the room, and that’s bad.

The challenge with this scene was quickly establishing everyone’s motivations and their relationships, while also keeping things visually interesting.

Pantheon - Maddie Chased

Maddie is chased by her insane neighbor who’s afraid of technology.

We didn’t want this sequence to be over the top action, but instead it should feel grounded and real, while also still providing suspense to the audience.

PANTHEON - CASPIAN AND HOLSTROM

Caspian reaches out to his progenitor for advice, but finds no help. He realizes that it’s up to him and him alone to make the impossible happen.

Pantheon - David Hacking

David, Laurie, and Maddie (the girl) work together to hack into a secure database to steal company secrets.

The sequence looks pretty straightforward now, but it took multiple passes to get to the point where the audience could understand the complex nature of hacking with only a cellphone.
